Work has started to install a new toddler playground at Water Lane, in the Prospect Estate, in Farnborough, themed around a castle centrepiece.
Following a robust tender process which included consultation with residents to make sure the new playground meets the needs and aspirations of those who live on the estate, the contract was awarded to Kompan.
The new playground has been funded by Prospect Estate Big Local (PEBL), a resident-led organisation that runs initiatives to benefit residents of the Prospect Estate, with procurement support from Rushmoor Borough Council.
PEBL allocated £85,857 to be spent on the Water Lane smaller children's playground, which will completely refurbish the toddler play zone, including additional stone under the existing footprint to improve drainage, as well as installing new equipment, a bench, a bin and signboard.
This is the last PEBL project as PEBL will close on 31 March, after a successful ten years of making Prospect Estate a better place for people to live.
