The new Cabinet positions, which will come into effect from 1 February, are as follows:

  • Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Healthy Communities and Active Lives – Sophie Porter
  • Cabinet member for Economy, Skills and Regeneration – Julie Hall
  • Cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services (Pride in Place) - Christine Guinness

  • Cabinet member for Finance and Resources – Becky Williams
  • Cabinet member for Policy, Performance and Sustainability – Jules Crossley

Councillor Williams said: “These changes support the focus we have placed on delivering where it is most important to residents.  Each member of Cabinet brings to the role both a clear understanding of the issues facing Rushmoor and experience in delivering real change.  They will each will have responsibility for delivering specific targets that matter to Rushmoor residents.

He added: “I would like also to thank Councillor Abe Allen, who is stepping down from the Cabinet, for the tremendous contribution that he has made to our discussions and in leading his portfolio so skillfully since being appointed as Rushmoor’s youngest ever Cabinet member in May last year.  I know that he will continue to do a fantastic job in representing Fernhill residents and contributing to debates.

Councillor Julie Hall joins the Cabinet, bringing her experience of working at a senior level in government, and I look forward to working with her and the whole Cabinet in delivering for residents.”
