Rushmoor Borough Council has launched a call for sites as they begin work on a new local plan.

The call is an important part of the preparation work for the new Local Plan for Rushmoor, and an opportunity for individuals, landowners, developers and other interested parties to submit sites that could potentially be used to meet the future needs for the area. This could be for housing, employment, retail, leisure or community use, or for nature enhancements.

Anyone who knows of any suitable sites is encouraged to submit details using the form on the council’s web page

Any responses will give the council an up-to-date understanding of available land in Aldershot and Farnborough, which will inform the new local plan. The closing date for responses is Friday 4 April.

Rushmoor Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Housing and Planning, Councillor Keith Dibble, said: “Before we start preparing a new Local Plan for Rushmoor, it’s important we know what land may be available for development to meet the future needs of the area. It’s not just for housing either - as it could have potential for leisure, community or business use.

“Since we last updated the local plan, some land ownership has changed hands and different pieces of land may have become available for development. It’s really useful for our planners to have this information.”
