If you have an empty property, you do not have to pay council tax on it for up to 2 months.
If you are carrying out major repairs or structural alterations your home, you can get a 50% discount on your council tax.
If your home has been adapted to meet the needs of a disabled person living there, you may be able to get a discount on your council tax.
If you have left care and are aged between 18 and 25, you may be able to get a reduction on your council tax bill.
If you have a furnished property that is not your only or main home, you must pay full council tax.
If your home has an annexe, you may be able to get a 50% discount on its council tax.
If you sponsor a Ukrainian refugee under the Homes for Ukraine scheme, you will not lose out on your council tax discount or exemption.
We don't count (disregard) certain people when we look at how many are living in a property for council tax purposes.
