You can use the Love Rushmoor website to report problems to us, including the following:

Abandoned and untaxed vehicles

We can remove an abandoned vehicle if it has been intentionally left on or off the road and the owner does not intend to return to it.  

There are some things to look out for that can help identify an abandoned vehicle:  

• If the vehicle has not moved for a long time and has no clear owner  
• If the vehicle is in a poor state of repair (for example there is broken glass or flat tyres)
• If the vehicle is in an unusual location, like in a park or green space

What happens when you report an abandoned vehicle:

• We will inspect the vehicle and contact its registered keeper 
• If we do not hear from them and agree that the vehicle has been abandoned, we will apply a statutory notice stating our intention to remove the vehicle 
• This will give the owner of the vehicle or the owner of the land that is parked on an opportunity to remove it 
• If after the notice expires, the vehicle is still in the same position, it will be removed
• If the owner does claim the vehicle, it will be their responsibility to remove it

Untaxed vehicles

An untaxed vehicle is not necessarily abandoned.  

To check if a vehicle is currently taxed, you can use the GOV.UK vehicle enquiry service and enter the vehicle registration. If you find the vehicle is untaxed and it is on a public road, you can report it.

Abandoned shopping trolleys

We can remove abandoned shopping trolleys, as well as recovering the costs from the owner.

Many supermarkets use Trolleywise to collect their abandoned trolleys. We will pass reports of these trolleys to Trolleywise for collection.   

For all other trolleys, we will collect them as soon as we can.

Fly-posting

Report fly-posting

After receiving your report, we will:  

• Visit the site within 3 working days 
• Contact the person or company who has put up the fly-posting to stop it from happening again and, where appropriate, ask them to remove it  
• Take legal action in appropriate cases

Fly-posting is unsightly and can make an area feel unsafe or uncared for.  

It is illegal to put up fly-posting on a building without permission from the owner. It is also an offence to fix unauthorised signs to street furniture or trees.  

Fly-tipping

If you know who owns the land or who is responsible for the fly-tipping, and it is safe to do so, please speak to them first to ask them to remove the fly-tipped rubbish/items.

Report fly-tipping

After receiving your report, we will:  

• Visit the location where you reported the fly-tip
• Check the fly-tip for evidence of where it has come from
• If we can identify where it has come from, we can contact the person or company who has carried out the fly-tipping and take legal action in appropriate cases  
• We will then arrange removal of the fly-tip if it is on public land, or make sure that the landowner does if it is on private land

Fly-tipping is dangerous and it can ruin the appearance of your neighbourhood. It is also an offence and carries a severe fine. 

We regularly monitor fly-tipping hotspots in Aldershot and Farnborough. If you see someone fly-tipping, please let us know. If you report it, the rubbish can be removed and with your help we can investigate the crime.  

Graffiti

Report graffiti

You can report general or offensive graffiti.

General graffiti will be removed as soon as possible.

Offensive graffiti on council-owned buildings, land or parks, will be removed within 24 hours, where possible.  

Many cases of graffiti are on private property and the responsibility for removing this lies with the property owner.

Graffiti is ugly and can make our neighbourhoods look uncared for. It is also a crime.  

Build-up of leaves

After receiving your report, we will visit the site within 3 working days and if necessary, arrange for the removal of any significant build-up of leaves on hard surfaces. Leaves on grassed areas are often left to degrade naturally.  

In the autumn, we employ extra teams to help clear the streets of fallen leaves. They work in addition to the regular street cleaning teams to collect the leaves as quickly as possible.  

The leaf clearing teams focus on 130 roads that we consider to have a significant problem with fallen leaves. Please see our list of roads due for additional leaf removal page for more details.  

Litter

We will pick it up as soon as possible.

We take littering very seriously and give fixed penalty notices to people found dropping litter in Rushmoor.

We will remove broken glass as soon as we can, during office hours.

Litter bin

Report a full or damaged litter bin

• Arrange for a full litter bin to be emptied within 1 working day of you telling us
• Arrange for a damaged litter bin to be repaired, replaced or removed as soon as possible

Syringes

If you find needles, syringes and other drug related items, please report it to us immediately, by contacting our customer services team.

Vandalism of bus shelters, benches and street signs

Bus shelters

We are responsible for the maintenance of more than 50 bus shelters across Aldershot and Farnborough.

If you report a problem with a bus shelter, we will:

• Visit within 24 hours if the shelter is in a dangerous condition
• Visit the site within 10 working days, otherwise

If the bus shelter belongs to us, we will arrange for work to be carried out as soon as possible. If it doesn't, we will notify the managing company that does.

Street seats and benches

We provide public seating in town centres, parks and near bus stops.

If you report a problem with street seats and benches, we will:

• Visit the site within 24 hours if the seating is in a dangerous condition
• Visit the site within 10 working days, otherwise

 We will arrange for any necessary repairs as soon as possible.

Street name signs

We provide all the street name signs in Aldershot and Farnborough.

If you report a problem with a street name sign, we will:

• Visit the site within 10 working days and arrange for any necessary repairs as soon as possible

We order new signs quarterly, so we will replace any damaged signs in the next available batch.

Weeds

Weed treatment on roads and pavements is the responsibility of Hampshire County Council. 

If you find a problem area, visit the Hampshire County Council website to report a problem with vegetation on the highway. 

 

Love Clean Streets app

As well as the Love Rushmoor website, we have a mobile app that allows you to report environmental problems while out and about. 

Simply download the Love Clean Streets app from the App Store or Google Play. The app will work on a smartphone/tablet with iOS 9+ or Android 6+ operating systems.
